Matsuri Nerd - Have Fun Collecting!
Matsuri Nerd was founded in 2015 by owners Luca and Silvia, driven by their passion for anime and manga.
Initially, our presence was exclusively online, but it wasn't long before we entered the world of conventions and fairs. Until 2016, we had only experienced these events as visitors.
We remember our very first convention with great affection. We were young, inexperienced and disorganized, but as we grew, we managed to improve and build a booth that certainly doesn't go unnoticed today.
We take part in all the biggest conventions in Italy, including Lucca Comics & Games, Napoli Comicon, Romics and many others, both in Italy and across Europe.
We went from storing our merchandise in a simple garage to having a large warehouse, from which all the parcels containing your favourite characters and series are shipped every day.
One of our greatest strengths is our extensive knowledge of anime and manga series and all the characters they feature. If you tell us the name of the character you're looking for, we immediately know who you mean, and you won't need to describe them. For example, if you're looking for Asuka, you can simply ask us for Asuka rather than saying “the girl in the red suit”.
We place great importance on the quality of our shipments. We never cut corners when it comes to padding and protection, because we know that there's never such a thing as too much protective paper or bubble wrap!
We are always up to date with the latest pre-orders and strive to offer a wide catalogue to satisfy the tastes of all our customers.
In 2022, we had the opportunity to open our very own store.
Just for fun, we were looking at some commercial spaces for rent when we found one we absolutely loved. We couldn't resist making the dream we'd had since we were teenagers come true: running our own manga and comic book store. And so our shop in Turin, at Via Rieti 30/D, was born and has since become one of the city's most important points of reference for fans.
Fun fact: the night before the grand opening, of course, everything wasn't ready yet, so we stayed there arranging products until 5 a.m. The result? We got just two hours of sleep before opening, but it was absolutely worth it!
We also began selling manga, offering a wide range of genres, from the latest releases to classic titles, to satisfy every kind of fan.
In addition to figures and Funko Pops, we have a large selection of Japanese and American snacks and drinks, merchandise, swords and katanas, Japanese editions, artbooks and themed T-shirts to complete your shopping experience.
In-store, you can also subscribe to the manga series you're reading, so you never miss a new volume. As soon as a new volume arrives, we set it aside for you and notify you by email.
